Lighting under overhead kitchen cupboards
Under-cabinet lighting is one of the easiest ways to make your kitchen look like you’ve spent way more on it than you actually did.
Better visibility, nicer atmosphere, and no more working in your own shadow...
The key is doing it properly. That’s why we stick with LED strip lighting, like Supernova, Lumitune or Prismalux, it gives you a smooth, even spread of light without the dotted, outdated look. You also get full control over brightness and colour temperature.
The good news, it’s simpler than it looks
This is how most kitchens start. Overhead lighting does the job, but it often leaves shadows across the bench and the space can feel a bit flat, especially at night.
Step 1. Grab a tape measure and note down each section under your cabinets. Don’t forget to mark any corners.
Step 2. Where will the system connect to power? Inside a cupboard, above the cabinets, or in the ceiling are the most common spots.
Step 3. Do you want a fixed colour, or the ability to adjust it? Most people go warm white, but it depends on your space.

How it looks installed
This one’s all about keeping things clean and built-in. The recessed profile hides everything neatly, while Prismalux provides strong, even light across the bench. Simple setup, but a big step up in both look and usability.
Supernova in a surface profile gives a clean line of warm light, bringing out the timber tones while keeping the bench properly lit.
A right angle connector keeps the run neat through the corner with no breaks in the light.
Customer preferred control via wall switch.
A recessed Supernova strip in 4000K provides bright, neutral lighting that enhances visibility across the entire workspace.
The flush-mounted profile keeps everything hidden, resulting in a clean, uninterrupted line of light.
At the end of the day, this is one of the easiest ways to level up your kitchen without a full renovation. Get the basics right, strip, driver, profile, and control, and you’ll end up with a clean, usable setup that actually makes a difference day to day.
